Michael Proctor: Leading Edge Financial Planning Origin Story | Real Wealth Podcast S2:E8

Michael Proctor is the founder and President of Leading Edge Financial Planning. He was born and raised in Goddard, KS and is a Kansas State graduate with a degree in finance. He has 3 children and is a city council member for the city of Goddard. 

 

Mike actually started school with the intention of being a law student, but he did finance as a backup because he felt it would be a good compliment to law. 

 

Mike got his start with Northwestern Mutual out of college and worked for them for a little over 5 years. Mike felt he enjoyed the industry but wanted to run the business a little differently. After a short stint with a broker dealer he decided the only way to run the business the way he wanted was to open his own Registered Investment Advisor firm. 

 

Enter Leading Edge Financial Planning. Mike started the firm a little over 6 years ago. He came into the firm with his Certified Financial Planning credentials. Mike had been thinking about making the jump into the entrepreneurial world of RIAs after about a year of consideration and prayer and hasn't looked back is since.
